Requests for transfer credit should be submitted before the start of class. Transfer credit may be granted at Swedish Institute\u2019s sole discretion if the following criteria have been met:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The coursework is not older than five years (technical courses) or seven years (general education courses) from the applicant\u2019s program start date at Swedish Institute.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coursework in English and Psychology older than seven years may be considered by the program dean for transfer of credit when the applicant has earned a bachelor\u2019s degree or higher in English or Psychology.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The course is comparable in length and content to a course offered at Swedish Institute.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The course was passed with at least a \u201cC\u201d (2.0) grade, as indicated on an official transcript.&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Note<\/strong>:&nbsp;Transfer credit in the nursing program requires a minimum of \u201cB-,\u201d a challenge examination for bioscience courses that must successfully verify a (2.67 or higher) grade and knowledge.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A maximum of 50% of the overall coursework necessary for graduation from the program in which the student is enrolled at Swedish Institute may be accepted for transfer. Transfer credit for Massage Therapy courses cannot exceed the equivalent of 250 clock hours.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Program deans reserve the right to request that students seeking transfer credit show adequate knowledge or skills through demonstration, interview, or written examination.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>&nbsp;Transfer credit may be evaluated based on an unofficial transcript, but credit will be awarded based only on an official transcript, which the student is responsible for providing to the Swedish Institute.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, if you have previously earned a bachelor\u2019s degree or higher, you are eligible to waive the Freshman Student Success (FSS-100) course from your schedule. Students with a degree can enroll in the Freshman Student Success course. Once enrolled, the student must complete the course and cannot \u201copt&nbsp;out\u201d after the Add\/Drop period.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-line\">Transfer Credit from Another Swedish Institute Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students who previously completed (after meeting all the graduation requirements) one program at Swedish Institute may be granted transfer credit into another program at the sole discretion of Swedish Institute. Courses taken from the previous program will generally be determined by the accepting program to be sufficiently equivalent to courses offered at the time of enrollment. Only passing grades will be considered for transfer credit. Courses approved as transfer credits will show a grade of \u201cTC\u201d on the Swedish Institute transcript. However, courses completed more than five years (technical courses) or seven years (general education courses) ago may require further evaluation. This will be performed at the discretion of the dean or program director of the accepting program after an interview. The applicant may be required to take an academic challenge test and\/or other forms of assessment.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students seeking to transfer credit are responsible for having official transcripts forwarded to the accepting program before the class begins. Awarding of credits will take place before the course begins. The requirements for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swedishinstitute.edu\/nursing\/\">nursing program<\/a> are different.
